Feeling Lacey for Easter

Hello Loves,

The classic lace shift dress has received quite the update this Spring. It is usually my "go-to" look for a classy changing of the season and a dressed/dressed down weekend. The fun part about it is that:

It can easily carry you from a day-to-night look with just a few changes in accessories.

Here are a few looks I'm currently crushing on:

CRISP WHITE:
As seen on Leighton -classic and crisp white with some beachy waves ...

Some coordinating accessories would be: (all from www.carsons.com
Michael Kors -large Riley pebbled leather satchel in the color of the season- light blue
Michaels Kors Kristen Embossed Heels in Optic White

Top off your look with a blushy stub by Michael Kors

LITTLE BLACK DRESS:
As seen on Lauren Conrad (for Kohls)

For a daytime look pair with some leopard flatts or a small wedge. (www.kohls.com)
For an evening out pair with these  on-trend floral Carrie heels by Guess:

For a nighttime handbag I like to stick with a clutch or a smaller look that doesn't take away from my dress:
Top off your look with these new drops from Lonna & Lilly:

Happy Easter!

Yours,

xoxo L

Vintage Spring Jackets

Hello Loves,

A great statement jacket can make your whole look. I am recently finding myself attracted to the 1950's trench, especially the skirted trench. They are fun, feminine, flirty and super affordable at:

Here are a few that are on my radar:

Candy Apple Green:

The Skirted Trench (1950's classic):

Plaid is Fab!

I have really been embracing the winter dullness lately, by putting a little plaid into my life. It's very easy to incorporate some into your everyday attire.

Here I've rocked a simple plaid mini with a pop of color on the leg and some to-the-knee boots.
The easiest way is to throw on plaid blanket scarf. It is very versatile and super chic. I like to wear mine belted as a slick poncho or loop it twice around my neck with a simple parka.
How do you like to wear your plaid?

French Girl Frill-From Paris with Love

With the Holiday's quickly sneaking up on us there is nothing more refined than mastering the French girl look for all of your seasonal soirees. Who is more inspirational than the French?

Here are some of my simple Winter updates to add a little Parisian pop from your everyday attire to a cocktail party.

Asymmetrical Wrap Coat: ( IN LOVE!) Polished Wrap-Coat (can't beat the price-tag either ;) )
-Ultra chic with black leather leggings and a bootie in Cranberry/Wine
-Casual Cool with jeans and a riding boot

The Fedora: My favorite way to rock a Fedora is with a polished trench and a tall boot. It offsets the size of the hat and is truly a gem on a bad hair day. ;)

The classic A line Red Dress: Need I elaborate. If you own any dress, this should be it.

Cheers!

Ombré locks everywhere!

Hello lovelies!
Recently I have become bored with my hair color, like most girls, and needed a significant change without becoming a completely different Lisa.
I'm not one to jump right on a trend and usually give it time to settle before I partake, I'm usually pretty classic. With that being said...this time I took a risk! <gasp>

Haven't gotten used to this new blonde look quite yet!
Has anyone else jumped on the ombré bandwagon yet?
Send your photos!

Made of Starlight

Photo-Ready Lashes!

Happy June!

Summer calls for that simple but photo ready, easy breezy,  chic makeup look....

One of my fav times of year to go light on the makeup without an excuse.  This is all accomplished with a camera ready lash!

If you like to go light on the makeup for the summer too, I find by creating a dramatic lashy look it makes you feel "put together" without really much effort. This leaves more time for dance parties, beach laying, and clam bakes.;)

After many years of perfecting and tweaking my abnormally long lashes I have scoped out the mascara market and have a few go-to products & secrets:
(After a thin dusting of a mineral powder and a bronzer)

1. Start with a basic & clean (new) eyelash curler. Sephora.com makes the best. Also a close second is made by Tweezerman. Both under $12.

2. Heat up your eyelash curler for 5-10 seconds on the hot setting of your blow dryer. This is my secret for the perfectly curled lash.

3. Gently and continuously pump your curler onto your lashes from the base. This helps create more definition and volume to your lash! :)

4. Immediately following your curl apply one thin coat of mascara to the UNDERside of your top lashes. Let dry for about 2 min.
-- Maybelline-Falsies is my all time favorite mascara.
--Benefit-Bad Gal is my splurge
Www.benefitcosmwtics.com

5. Apply a second coat of mascara to the  top of your upper lashes starting at the base of your eyelid and work your way up in a zig-zag patten for volume.

6. I then like to add a thin coat of mascara to my bottom lashes as I have really small eyes.

7. Add a liquid liner or a bit of shimmer to your eyelids if you want a party ready look or go bare for an easy beach look.
---My go-to shimmer is: Bare Minerals "queen Phyllis"
---Stila liquid waterproof liner  "stay all day" in brown

Now you're all ready for your close up!

Look of the Day: "Loving him was Red"

Who knew red skinnies could be a staple? If you have yet to try a colored denim here's how to rock the look without looking like your ready to become a Big Bang Theory groupie. ;)

I have found so much wear out of my $40 HUE skinnies... I just can't get enough! Www.carsons.com

Today I decided to spruce them up with my Madewell cheetah flatts. However, a simple black flatt is always a safe bet if you're trying to mix a large amount of red into your look, or any primary color at all.

I find it best to keep your blouse simple and toned down. Here I am cozy in my BCBG cashmere tunic. It has held up for its 4th Michigan winter now.;)

My mod necklace is of course lia sophia. I feel like it pulls together some of the colors in my flatts. It was from a limited edition collection and is super affordable at under $100.

Here's to being the lady in red!
